Leadership Development: Why, How and When? 
 

 
MISPA has developed products and services, such as Inspiring Leaders, that promote leadership in response to needs and evidence presented community practitioners.
 
Our intention is not to promote one style or one ethos of leadership. The Third Sector comprises a rich, diverse body of interests and passions. We believe that leaders in the community come in many styles, characters and circumstances.
 
So many leaders on not for profit organisations are working within small settings, using goodwill and minimal resources, e.g. in 2009 NCVO discovered that more than half the 870,000 not for profit organisations and groups in the UK operated on £10,000 a year or less. These groups also expend huge energies in chasing funding and often fall into 'boom - bust' cycles as their struggle to meet the social needs they have identifed.
 
It is the people running clubs, groups, charities, associations and activities with little time, resources or connection to the wider sector that we are seeking to assist.
 
 
We work with all sectors, public, private, academia and third, to find knowledge, practice and skills that can be transferred to these leaders. Our passion is to assist others in realising their potential and abilities to bring positive social change to their communities.
